Caterpillar presents new Cat CG132B series generator sets at Water Environment Federation’s Technical Conference in New Orleans

Mannheim, October 30, 2018

At the Water Environment Federation's Technical Conference (WEFTEC), held in New Orleans, Louisiana September 30 - October 4, Caterpillar presented its Cat CG132B series. This new series of generator sets are capable to operate on different types of gas providing customers with tremendous operational flexibility to maximise the value of their investment.

Treating wastewater for large and rapidly growing communities is an energy-intensive and costly undertaking. Caterpillar is assisting customers with generator sets that can operate on different types of gas like biogas in waste water applications. With a broad portfolio of durable and reliable solutions, customers have benefited from reduced operational costs in addition to being more environmentally responsible due to the state-of-the-art solutions in the Caterpillar portfolio.

Operational flexibility and high efficiencies

Together with sponsoring dealers, Louisiana Cat, Mustang Cat, Peterson Cat and Puckett Cat, industry experts present at the Caterpillar exhibit talked about the new Cat CG132B series generator sets. These generators are available in 8, 12 and 16 cylinder configurations with continuous duty biogas ratings of 400, 600 and 800 kW’s.

In addition, this series of generator sets are capable to operate on an infinite blend of biogas and natural gas and will enable customers to achieve faster payback periods due to its operational flexibility and lower total life-cycle costs

The high electrical and thermal efficiencies and fuel blending capability of the Cat CG132B series are making it ideal for the wastewater treatment industry.
